About Me
Confession time. I did a Chemistry degree back in the day but got kicked off the course. Not for anything nefarious, you understand - nothing that exciting. I just had an aversion to studying chemistry.
I have always been a bit of a dreamer. Even back then I was spending more time making up characters in my head rather than doing what I should have been like working through the maths of probability theory.
The truth is that I like writing stories. I have a day job, like anyone else, but in my spare time (actually, pretty much all the time) I seem to have a need to make stuff up. And if by chance my hero can be super sexy, then so much the better. And if I can weave a little magic so there is a little frisson of tension between my heroine and hero then I am in heaven. Making my characters fall in love is so much fun!
I live with my husband in a tiny English village out in the sticks surrounded by beautiful countryside. I love country pubs, Cornish coves, chocolate, red wine, cheese, Christmas pudding, summer holidays and Jane Austen. You can see that food features large in my life, can't you? I have visited Berlin, the beautiful Amalfi Coast and the Swiss Alps. I also went to Rhodes once with a friend and we stayed in a pretty crappy hotel. And I got very drunk on cocktails - but let's not go there.
I make a pretty mean sponge cake and I collect colourful notebooks which I fill with scraps of ideas for future books. I love old country houses and if I was as rich as JK Rowling I would try and save them all - hence the inspiration for my first book, The Wedding Guests.

That's me in a nutshell. I'm also bad at impressions, hopeless with regional accents and don't pluck my eyebrows as often as I should. But I don't think that makes me a bad person!
